Songtrust signs publishing-administration deal with Audiomack
Earlier this month, we reported on youth-focused streaming service Audiomack’s growth from 400,000 daily active users a year ago to 1.5 million now. That has put it higher on the radar of music-industry rightsholders, so a partnership with Songtrust will come as good news. The deal is all about publishing administration, and Songtrust’s efforts to collect royalties for songwriters and producers whose work is being streamed. “Adding global publishing administration will be of great benefit to both their creative work and their business toolkit,” said Songtrust’s global head of business development Molly Neuman. “With Songtrust, we will take a huge step forward in educating artists on the resources they need to maximize their revenue and fully understand their rights, advancing Audiomack’s mission of equitably compensating and supporting the creators who come to our platform to move music forward,” is how CEO Dave Macli put it.
