British music industry to send trade-mission to China
China is already a top-10 recorded-music market according to the IFPI, with western labels and artists alike keen to understand how they can reach audiences and generate income there. British industry bodies AIM, the BPI and the MPA are launching a new trade mission to China to help. It’ll kick off at the end of March, with the week-long event in Beijing aimed at managers, labels, publishers, distributors and the music-festivals sector. The UK’s Department for International Trade is also involved, with the week promising a mix of education, networking, meetings, conferences, showcases and visits to local music companies. The application form can be found here, while details of possible funding for participants can be requested by emailing the DIT’s Phil Patterson.
