Mz Orstin Tears It Up On YFM’s Live Session!

If you haven’t heard of the petite She-J known as Mz Orstin, then you’re about to be one of the few! Mz Orstin has been well known in the Ghanaian entertainment industry circles for years now, but this weekend she exploded into the public eye with a vengeance!

On Saturday night, Y107.9FM had Ghana’s two top female DJs, or DJanes if you will, performing back to back on the Y Party Pressure show. The event was broadcast on radio, of course, but also on Facebook, Twitter’s Periscope live and of course on Instagram Live. Each DJ had a two hour set within the four hour show dedicated purely to party music, as the name suggests.
Mz Orstin was the last of the two, and proceeded to set the station and the internet on fire with a blazing mix of up-tempo party songs that kept her audience and her hype man, Jonny Stone, bouncing and bopping all the way to midnight! YFM is known to have the hottest DJs in Ghana, but I think we may need to add Mz Orstin, the Party Queenpin, into the mix of that conversation! She may not be as widely known as her contemporaries like Mic Smith, or DJ Vyruski, but you wouldn’t have thought so from the way she played on Saturday night.

Mz Orstin’s high energy play could be felt even by those listening in on the radio, but viewers of the live social media broadcast were treated to a show like none other, with dance moves and performative playing like her life depended on it. Believe it or not, this is the second live DJ set that the Party Queenpin completely crushed last week!

Last Tuesday, the small but powerful DJ took over Sound City Africa’s Instagram as part of their Amazons In The Mix Instagram Live concert, where she treated a host of viewers from across the continent to her high tempo playing style and wowed the crowd, like she’s been doing for years.
The future looks immensely bright for this natural born performer, and we, for one, can’t wait to see what that future looks like!
