Afro Nation Portugal Unveils Artist Lineup for 2027 Edition
Organizers of Afro Nation Portugal have officially announced the full roster of performers for the festival’s 2027 edition. The flagship event is scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 11 in the coastal city of Portimão, Portugal, convening leading musical acts across Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall, and associated genres from the continent and the diaspora.
The festival’s Lit Stage will be headlined by prominent Nigerian artists Davido and Rema alongside Congolese icon Fally Ipupa. Nigerian singer-songwriter Omah Lay and Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea also hold top billing on the program, reflecting the event’s ongoing blend of African contemporary sounds with Caribbean musical exports.
Diverse Roster and Dedicated Amapiano Platform
Additional artists revealed for the 2027 gathering include Nigerian singer Victony, Tanzanian recording artist Rayvanny, alongside acts such as Odeal, Valiant, Bamby, and MiMi Kids. Together, the roster underlines a deliberate push to represent diverse regions and sub-genres within the broader African diaspora pop space on a major international stage.
As in previous installments, Afro Nation will maintain a strong focus on South African dance culture via its Piano People stage. Pioneer producer Kabza De Small and DJ duo TxC will anchor the Amapiano lineup, accompanied by Dlala Thukzin as a featured special guest. The electronic soundscape will be further supported by performances from Young Stunna, Zee Nxumalo, 031Choppa, W4DE, Xduppy, and Al Xapo.
The annual gathering in Portimão remains one of the primary commercial gateways for African live performers looking to consolidate international touring demand in Europe. For the wider African music economy, persistent brand equity from major festivals provides essential live revenue channels, strengthens cross-regional collaboration among Francophone, Anglophone, and Southern African acts, and sustains global consumer interest in live African music.
