Tiakola Enlists Rema for New Collaboration ‘Best’

French-Congolese recording artist Tiakola has teamed up with Nigerian music star Rema on a new collaborative track titled “Best”. The single is featured on Tiakola’s newly issued second studio album, WpointM, signaling a creative exchange between contemporary French rap and the West African Afrobeats movement.

Cross-Cultural Collaboration

“Best” merges Tiakola’s signature melodic French rap cadence with Rema’s distinct Afrobeats rhythms. Both artists utilize their characteristic blending of singing and rapping across the track. The record was co-produced by producer London, with wider musical contributions across the album provided by AOD and Washy, establishing a rhythmic framework that accommodates both performers’ vocal styles.

The track is positioned as one of 17 songs comprising WpointM, a project marking the latest phase in Tiakola’s solo trajectory. Throughout the album, the artist incorporates elements of French rap, Afrobeats, and musical influences rooted in his Congolese heritage. Beyond Rema, the record includes guest appearances from British singer Jorja Smith, Theodora, Bné, and veteran Congolese musical outfit Zaïko Langa Langa.

Tiakola had previously generated anticipation for the joint effort by teasing the collaboration within the visuals for his single “Upa Solide.” The parent project arrived following a preliminary release, WpointM – 93120, a six-track preface project that arrived on September 24.

For the African and diaspora music ecosystem, collaborations between francophone European artists and prominent Afrobeats figures reflect a growing commercial alignment across key regional markets.
