Lojay Returns With New Single ‘Money Lingo’
Nigerian artist Lojay has returned with the release of his latest single, “Money Lingo.” Issued through his imprint, Koratori Music, the new track marks the singer’s latest offering following his previous body of work from the “XOXO” album era, continuing his established format of concise, hook-oriented releases.
The track is anchored by a rhythmic, Pidgin-infused refrain: “Hear any other lingo, money lingo say na money lingo.” Musically, the release combines foundational Afrobeats production with clever wordplay and lighthearted lyricism. This artistic direction presents a noticeable contrast to Lojay’s more R&B-leaning output, such as his 2025 collaborative effort “Memories” alongside South African singer Tyla.
Interest surrounding the track gained traction after Lojay shared a 44-second studio clip that showed him working alongside fellow Nigerian artist Davido. The teaser sparked discussions regarding renewed collaborative chemistry between the two acts, who previously teamed up with American singer Chris Brown on the 2023 single “Sensational.”
Strategic Dual Appeal for African Music
From a music business perspective, “Money Lingo” reflects a deliberate balance between domestic relevance and international marketability. By blending Nigerian cultural nuance with contemporary production structures, Lojay delivers a record crafted to resonate within the domestic market while appealing to audiences abroad, reinforcing the global profile of Nigerian pop music.
Additionally, managing the release through his own Koratori Music imprint highlights how contemporary African artists are utilizing individual label structures to maintain creative and operational independence while pursuing international growth. Lojay continues to establish his position as an artist with strong local roots and a broad commercial outlook.
