Adekunle Gold Recalls Davido’s Dedication on ‘High’ Video Set

Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has shared insight into Davido’s work ethic, detailing the artist’s commitment during the visual production of their collaborative single, “High.” The reflection emerged following an exchange with an audience member on social media regarding a behind-the-scenes photograph of both musicians.

Adekunle Gold had shared an image of himself alongside Davido accompanied by a brief caption, prompting an inquiry from a follower curious about the context behind the moment. In response, the vocalist revealed that the picture was documented on August 4, 2021, immediately after concluding production on the video for “High.”

According to Adekunle Gold, the shoot encountered notable operational delays, coinciding with prior obligations Davido had scheduled elsewhere that day. Rather than departing early, Davido chose to remain on set until the production crew finalized the ultimate take.

Professionalism and Industry Standards

Adekunle Gold highlighted that Davido arrived on schedule, maintained an upbeat disposition throughout the session, and offered no complaints despite the extended timeline, emphasizing his colleague’s determination to ensure the visual achieved the intended creative quality.

For the African music industry, demonstrations of discipline and punctuality from marquee acts highlight the evolving professional standards on production sets. As visual storytelling remains vital for the global positioning of Afrobeats, cooperation and shared commitment among leading performers facilitate smoother productions and elevate overall creative outputs.

The revelation comes at a time when listeners continue to monitor developments around potential future collaborations between both Nigerian artists.
