Dave to Conclude Global Tour with Debut Headline Shows in Lagos
British-Nigerian rapper Santan Dave has officially scheduled his first-ever headline performances in Nigeria, which will serve as the final stop of his international run, The Boy Who Played the Harp tour.
The artist is slated to deliver back-to-back concerts on October 16 and 17 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos. Dave has described the two-night engagement as a “special homecoming” to close out the extensive worldwide trek.
A Milestone Finale in Lagos
When the global tour was originally announced in October 2025, Nigeria was noticeably absent from the schedule. The tour commenced in Munich in February and travelled through multiple cities across Europe, North America, and Australia. While the rapper subsequently announced his first African dates in South Africa, West African dates had remained unconfirmed.
The confirmation of the Lagos concerts on June 9 followed a high-profile online appeal by a dedicated Nigerian supporter on X. The fan shared daily requests beginning with “Day 1 of asking Santan Dave to include Nigeria on his tour,” persisting across 102 consecutive days as the tour progressed globally. Dave publicly acknowledged the effort by responding, “My brother. Your watch has ended,” while officially confirming the Lagos dates.
For the African live performance ecosystem, the addition of Lagos as the tour’s final destination reflects the sustained consumer demand for diaspora talent in key domestic hubs. Securing headline dates from major international acts underscores the commercial viability of West African venues, providing local audiences with direct access to major touring productions typically staged outside the continent.
