Arsenal Clarifies William Saliba Absence From Squad Photo

Arsenal Football Club has moved to clarify why first-team defender William Saliba was missing from the club’s official squad photograph for the 2026/27 campaign, following questions raised by supporters online.

The London club recently published the new season’s official team portrait across its digital platforms and website. Observers and fans quickly noticed that the French international was not present in the lineup, prompting widespread discussion regarding the reason behind his omission from the formal presentation.

Logistical Conflict Behind the Omission

Saliba has established himself as an essential figure in the defensive system overseen by manager Mikel Arteta. Given his core role in the starting lineup, his absence from an official team engagement immediately drew attention and led to questions from supporters and neutrals alike.

In response to the growing public curiosity, Arsenal clarified that the central defender was unable to attend the photo session because of a previously scheduled medical appointment. The timing of the appointment conflicted directly with the planned media shoot, preventing him from taking part in the session alongside his teammates.

The confirmation from the club has put an end to rumors regarding any potential disciplinary issues or internal disagreements. Saliba remains an integral component of Arsenal’s defensive structure as the campaign continues.
